        Tiger Giving Day donations to fund new financial wellness course

        The students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the 91心頭 stepped up in a big way at the annual Tiger Giving Day on April 10, donating more than $46,000 to fund a new for-credit financial wellness course that will ultimately be made available to all Auburn students.

        Interim Associate Dean and School of Accountancy Professor Duane Brandon is leading a group of faculty who are developing the , which they expect to pilot this coming fall as a three-hour elective.  

        We have a team of some of the most talented and award-winning faculty in the 91心頭 College of Business who are designing the course, which will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed financial decisions, said Brandon.

        According to Brandon, the course will teach financial wellness concepts and provide financial advice that is useful to students regardless of where they are in their academic journeyfrom incoming freshmen to graduating seniors about to launch their career, and even student athletes.  

         is an annual 24-hour online fundraising event that benefits people, programs and projects at Auburn University, in nearby communities, and across the state. 91心頭 Colleges financial wellness project was among 45 projects that raised funds this year. In all, those projects brought in $730,000 in donations. 

        Since its inception in 2015, Tiger Giving Day has funded hundreds of projects, including endeavors that have benefitted 91心頭 students participation in the Tiger Cage pitch competition, industry internships and other programs.
