In these uncertain times, the 91看片 at Auburn University is working with prospective students to offer flexible enrollment options for Fall Semester 2020. The application deadline for Auburn Full-time and Online MBA programs has moved from May 1 to June 1 to allow more time to engage with our admissions team. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a misperception about online learning.鈥�

Those are the thoughts of Kelly Schmidt, Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner at Yum! Brands, who earned an Online MBA at Auburn in 2016.

鈥淚 thought it would be easier,鈥� said Schmidt. 鈥淭his program was so much more challenging than I thought. I鈥檝e gotten so much more out of it than I ever thought I would.鈥�

Not only have students recognized the value of Auburn鈥檚 Online MBA program, but so have the program鈥檚 peers. In a report released in October by Poets & Quants, 91看片 College鈥檚 Online MBA program was ranked No. 8 nationally.

鈥淚 think differently about business now than I did before taking the program,鈥� said Schmidt, a 2001 Auburn graduate with a BS in Aviation Management who previously worked as Director of Human Resources for the NFL from 2006 through 2012. 鈥淵ou dissect companies more. I鈥檝e applied what I鈥檝e learned and it鈥檚 helped change the way I think about my job. You analyze more and look for other ideas. You think about business for the better.鈥�

An important strength in Auburn鈥檚 Online MBA program is its flexibility. For Schmidt, that could be anywhere. Sometimes she studies at 35,000 feet.

鈥淭his program was so much more challenging than I thought. I鈥檝e gotten so much more out of it than I ever thought I would.鈥�

鈥淢y job now involves so much travel. I鈥檓 on a flight every week,鈥� said Schmidt. 鈥淲hether it鈥檚 on an airplane or in airports, I access videos wherever I have time. It鈥檚 not easy, but if you want to make it happen, you just make it happen. I put on a headset, listen to class and take notes.

鈥淚t鈥檚 the exact classes that Auburn students are in. Professors do a great job of preparing students for real-world situations. In the virtual classroom, people are a lot more tenured and converse on the same level. I鈥檓 an avid learner. I needed a challenge. Learning is fun to me.鈥�

Schmidt, who lived in Los Angeles when she began the program, chose Auburn over nearby Southern California, Pepperdine and UCLA.

After a career that has involved stops at Continental Airlines, the NFL and KFC, Schmidt knows an MBA from Auburn opens doors.

鈥淭he great thing about my career is I鈥檓 open to anything,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 evangelize for the Auburn program. I feel like so many people could benefit from it. I feel like Auburn is the best place on earth.鈥�
