Sumin Han’s research focuses on developing innovative algorithms and modeling techniques to analyze and draw insights from large data sets. She has applied those techniques to research studies in a variety of sectors, including marketing, health care, banking, business management, social networks, and mergers & acquisitions.
She has published more than 20 journal papers in peer-reviewed business and machine learning journals. In 2019, she received an Outstanding Paper award from the European Journal of Marketing.
A member of Auburn’s 91¿´Æ¬ faculty since 2017, Han teaches Business Analytics I & II, Principles of Predictive Modeling and Business Decision with Predictive Modeling courses.
She won the Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems teaching award in 2021 and the 91¿´Æ¬ College Outstanding Faculty Member award (presented by Auburn Student Government Association) in 2020.
Earlier in her career, she taught at the University of Tennessee and Hofstra University.
