        David J. Ketchen, Jr. (Dave) serves as 91¿´Æ¬ Eminent Scholar and Professor of Management at Auburn University. Within the 91¿´Æ¬, he has taught courses on strategic management, franchising, research design, and organization theory. Dave is part of the multidisciplinary teaching team that offers a .

        Dave has authored six books and more than 160 journal articles on effectively managing organizations. According to Google Scholar, his work has been cited by colleagues. His 2018 textbook provides a low cost alternative to traditional textbooks and it is used in business programs at dozens of universities.

        Dave is the former chair of the board for (a statewide competition for startup businesses), and he helped distribute $2 million in job creation loans in Alabama. Dave serves on the teaching team for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities at Florida State University, and he has acted as an expert witness. He was the lead consultant on a six PhD team that helped a Fortune 100 company create a winning bid for an $11.2 billion contract. Dave was the 2012 recipient of the Smeal Graduate Distinguished Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business.
