IRS-CI Pathways Career Internship:

The PAID Pathways Career Internship Student Trainee program has returned. The IRS is looking for skilled  and qualified individuals to join our diverse and dynamic work force. The work done by IRS employees helps to make sure taxpayers understand and  meet their tax obligations. This is a great opportunity for students to come work for IRS-CI. After 1 year they will automatically convert to a special agent and head to the academy if their performance is satisfactory.  

• This Internship is open to U.S. Citizens/Nationals who are  students enrolled on a full-time basis, or accepted for enrollment, and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution; have at least a cumulative (overall) 2.0 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale; and remain in good academic standing.

• The current program is designed for those students that will complete the program requirements for conversion to an 1811 (special agent designation) within 12-18 months (ideally in their junior year or graduate year when applying to the announcement) 
• Target Onboarding Period– June/July 2025
• Hours must be between 16-31 hours per week or 32-64 hours per pay period.
